There was plenty of speculation about whether the Patriots would draft a quarterback to develop behind Tom Brady this year and we got out answer late in Saturday’s proceedings.
The Patriots steered clear of quarterbacks for six rounds before they turned their attention to the position to kick off the seventh round. New England took Danny Etling with the first pick of the seventh round and the 219th pick overall.

But the felony charges were dismissed, leaving Anderson facing only misdemeanor reckless driving. He and/or his attorney failed to show in court to address the charge, though, leaving him facing yet another arrest.
Anderson already is scheduled for trial in August for resisting arrest with violence and obstructing justice stemming from his arrest at a Miami music festival last year.
Anderson was the Jets’ leading receiver in 2017, catching 63 passes for 941 yards and seven touchdowns.
Adrian Peterson ended last season on injured reserve due to a neck injury, but now, the veteran running back is healthy and ready to play.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Peterson has been cleared to return to the field by doctors. Pelissero noted that the former NFL MVP is ready to join a team that is willing to give him a chance, including the New Orleans Saints.
